The Police Command in Lagos State said on Thursday that two brothers drowned at Ibeshe Beach on Christmas Day. The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that someone reported the incident to the police. Kano Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, ordered the remand of a 24-year-old housewife, Hafsat Surajo, in a Correctional Center for allegedly stabbing her househelp, Nafiu Hafizu, 38, to death. The defendant, who lives at Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano, is standing trial on a two-count charge of attempt to commit suicide and culpable homicide. The remains of former Speaker of House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Na’Abba, has been laid to rest in Kano on Wednesday. Na’Abba’s corpse was flown into the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport from Abuja.
