The Police in Bauchi have arrested a 19 year-old man (names withheld), for alleged murder of a commercial sex worker in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state. SP Ahmad Wakil, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the arrest in a statement, on Wednesday in Bauchi. Wakil said operatives of the command arrested the suspect on Monday, after he stabbed the girl with a knife and killed her. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked rumour that it is increasing the 2024 registration fee. The Board’s Public Communication Advisor (PCA), Dr Fabian Benjamin said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday. The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has set up a committee to review the E-call-up system for trucks to come up with measures to check abuse of the system. Oyetola said this in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mr Ismail Omipidan, on Wednesday in Lagos. Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has approved the release of bond certificates worth N1.6 billion for 346 retirees under the contributory pension scheme. This is contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Ibrahim Akibu, on Wednesday in Osogbo. Adeleke said the beneficiaries cut across primary schools teachers and local governments staff, among other retirees . This was made known via a public release on Wednesday, stating that the action is attributed to the recent breach of diplomatic protocol and assault by Ethiopian security forces on two of the African Development Bank’s international members of staff.
