Safiu Kehinde Lagos State government has unveiled traffic diversion plan ahead of the annual women’s run set to hold on Saturday. The state’s, Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday and shared via his X handle. As contained in the statement, there will be partial closure of roads from Tafawa Balewa Square, which is the race start point, to Mobalaji Johnson. Amidst recurrent collapse of the national grid, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has ordered the Transition Company of Nigeria (TCN) and all other relevant agencies of the ministry to begin the immediate implementation of the recommendations of the inter-agency committee. Safiu Kehinde Two unlicensed Bureau de change operators have been sentenced to jail by a Federal High Court in Damaturu, capital city of Yobe state. This was disclosed in a statement issued on X by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday. According to the statement, the Presiding Judge, Fadimatu Aminu convicted and sentenced the duo identified as Haruna Ahmadu and Kabiru Iliyasu to separate jail terms for operating Bureau de change, BDC, businesses without an appropriate license. Agency Report Governor Alex Otti, has renamed the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, after the first governor of the state, late Dr Ogbonnaya Onu. Safiu Kehinde An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court has, on Thursday, remanded a 33-year-old housewife, Olajumoke Olalere, at Agodi Correctional facility, Ibadan, for allegedly stabbing her husband to death. Following her refusal to take the defendant’s plea over lack of jurisdiction, the Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, ordered Olajumoke’s remand pending the legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).
