Safiu Kehinde The father of Spanish and Barcelona Star, Lamine Yamal, is currently under ‘serious but stable’ condition after getting stabbed three times in a murder attempt yesterday. Mounir Nasraoui, 35, was attacked in a car park in the Northeastern Spanish town of Mataro. He was, reportedly, stabbed twice at the abdomen and once at the chest. According to Spanish report, Nasraoui was rush to a hospital where he was placed under under intensive care unit. So far, three people have been arrested in connection to the murder attempt with Yamal visiting his father at the hospital earlier today.

Agency Report Arrests have been made over the death of Friends star Matthew Perry who was found unresponsive at his Los Angeles home in October. A post-mortem examination found the cause of his death was “the acute effects of ketamine”, a controlled drug which the recovering addict was taking as part of supervised therapy. LA police opened an investigation in May to determine why Perry, 54, had so much of the drug in his system when he died. Agency Report Sweden’s public health agency has recorded what it says is the first case of a contagious new variant of mpox outside the African continent. The person became infected during a stay in an area of Africa where there is currently a major outbreak of mpox Clade 1, the agency said. As contained in the report, food inflation increased by 12.55% in July 2024 as against 26.98% recorded in July 2023 on a year-on-year basis. The rise of food inflation, according to the report, is caused by increase in prices of food items such as semovita, yam flour (prepacked), wheat flour (prepacked), yam, Irish potato, Groundnut oil, Milo, and Bournvita, amongst others. This was disclosed earlier today at the Council’s 106th meeting which began yesterday and chaired by current CJN, Olukayode Ariwoola. As contained on the Council’s official website, Kekere-Ekun is poised to succeed the incumbent CJN whose tenure ends on Thursday 22nd August, 2024.
