Reacting to the incident that occurred at a NIPCO CNG station at Ikpoba Hill in Benin city, the committee in a statement issued on Thursday, disclosed that preliminary investigation revealed that a close examination of the cylinder in question showed it was wielded and modified without approval fo CNG use. Safiu Kehinde Oyo state Police Command has, on Thursday, arraigned a 22-year-old mechanic, Waris Tijani, over alleged N1.5 million car fraud. Tijani, who had no fixed address, was presented before Magistrate Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan. He was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses and stealing. However, Tijani pleaded not guilty of the alleged offense. Meanwhile, the prosecutor, Insp. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said the EU could “draw lessons” from a contested Italian policy of processing migrants offshore in Albania, as leaders of the 27 member states hold an EU summit focusing on migration.
