Accugas Limited, a subsidiary of Savannah Energy, has denied alleged involvement in the current power outage in Akwa Ibom state. The natural gas producing company debunked claims of being responsible for the power outage in a statement issued by its Communications Officer, Okwudili Onyia. According to the statement, the outage was caused by a reported fault in the 132-KV Aba-Itu transmission line. This prevented the transmission power from the National grid to the state. Meanwhile, his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), gathered 3 votes. Following the closure of voting by 2;30pm, the officials embarked on the sorting of ballot papers for counting at polling units where the election has been concluded such as Unit 07, Ward 02, Ile Oluji/ Okeigbo LGA as well as unit 01, Ward 08, Owo LGA.
