Thirtee persons alleged to have been employed by the Federal Character Commission(FCC) into agencies of Federal Government have petitioned the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee investigating job racketeering over unlawful disengagement. The 13 petitioners accused the Chairman, FCC, Mrs Farida Dankaka of substituting their names unlawfully. In the document submitted to the committee and obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the 13 petitioners urged the support of the committee to redress what they called ”unjust disengement”. Members of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Tuesday marched to the Cross River House of Assembly on a peaceful protest against the kidnap of a member, Dr Ekanem Ephraim. PARIS, Aug 2 (Reuters) – The first military planes carrying mostly European nationals evacuated from Niger landed in Paris and Rome on Wednesday, with France and other countries expected to fly of their citizens out of the West African country after last week’s coup.
