The victims according to the agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi in a statement on Sunday were picked up on Wednesday while being relocated from their hideout in the Naze area of Owerri to the Ikenegbu area of the Imo State capital. The government explained that the new fee increase is to enable it priotise other government services and improve on services. The new fee regime will take effect from October 4, 2023. To this effect, applicants for visitor visa will now pay £115 which is about N111,878.28 as opposed to the initial £15 (N14,592.70. before now. Student visa fee has also seen an upward review and is now £490 (N476,677.59) from £127 (N123,537.58), representing a 286 percent increment.

The man who lives in Doka Baici, Tofa Local Government Area, has been arrested by the Kano State Hisbah Board on Friday. The NBS disclosed this in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Inflation Report for August, which was released in Abuja on Friday. According to the report, the figure, which is 1.72 per cent points higher compared to the 24.08 per cent recorded in July 2023.
