The local currency gained by 4.06 per cent compared to the N773.50 it exchanged for against the dollar on Monday. The open indicative rate closed at N761.24 to the dollar on Tuesday. Alkali made the disclosure during his visit to Kajola Wagon Assembly Plant in Ogun, on Tuesday. He said the railway corporation was using standard gauge to carry cargo from Lagos to Ibadan but will begin the operation from Apapa to Kano in three months time. Rep. Beni Lar, the Chairman of the Committee, gave the ruling in Abuja on Tuesday at an investigative hearing on the the Nigeria-Cameroon boundary disputes.
