The Lagos State Government has announced the extension of traffic diversion on Murtala Mohammed Way from Wednesday until Sept 30. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, made the disclosure in a statement in Lagos. He stated that the diversion was due to the ongoing Phase 1 of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit project. Oladeinde said there would be a total lane closure to allow the contractor work without any inhibition during the course of the construction. Texas police have said the gunman who shot 21 people dead at a school last week entered through a door that was supposed to lock, but somehow did not. The US will send Ukraine more advanced rocket systems to help it defend itself, President Biden has announced. Police in Ebonyi invaded a camp suspected to belong to outlawed Eastern Security Network (ESN) on Tuesday and killed three persons. Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Kashim, has withdrawn from the race.
