The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency order immediate release of the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche and two others. Hundreds of commercial motorcycles riders popularly called Okada have set at least two buildings ablaze in an estate in Abuja. The incident happened at the Global Estate Lokogoma area of the metropolitan area after a motorist was accused of knocking one of them down. The irate riders were said to have pursued the motorist into the estate and attacked security men at the gate. Two civilians have been killed and five wounded by shelling as Russian troops entered the outskirts of the Ukrainian city Severodonetsk, Luhansk region governor Serhiy Haidai has said on messaging app Telegram. Actress Patricia Brake, known for her roles in BBC sitcom Porridge and ITV drama Manhunt, has died aged 79 after being diagnosed with cancer, her family has said. Her agent Scott Marshall Partners said Brake would be “sadly missed” by her friends, family, colleagues and fans. Brake’s 60-year career saw her play roles in television soaps Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders. But she was best known to viewers in the 1970s for her role in Porridge.
