The Chairman, Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Shehu Adaramaja, said he would kick-start its data-driven Education Transformation Project (KwaraLEARN) across 365 primary schools on May 16, 2022. Adaramaja said this at a news conference on Sunday in Ilorin, Kwara State. He said that the programme will cut across 365 primary schools in the state. At least four persons have been confirmed dead by the Federal Road Safety Corps on Sunday in accident that occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge. Other people were said to have been injured and taken to hospitals for medical attention. Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kaduna State Council has called on the Federal Government, as a matter of urgency, to resume negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over its prolonged strike. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said its operatives have intercepted travellers’ cheques in various foreign currencies of over N1.1billion at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos. This is contained in a statement by Mr. Femi Babafemi, Director, Media and Advocacy, of the agency, on Sunday in Abuja. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has seized a total of 47 cartons of suspected fake Tramadol, comprising 2.3 million tablets, weighing 1222kg in Zaria, Kaduna state. The NDLEA spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, who said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, added that the seizures were made on April 25. Babafemi said that a dealer, Chinedu Asogwa, was arrested on April 26 along the Abuja-Kaduna express road. Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have intercepted 10 bags of illicit drugs worth N3 million and suspected to be Indian Hemp.
