The claims were made at a meeting on Tuesday night at which female Conservative MPs shared accounts of alleged sexism and harassment. One of those who reported the unnamed MP was a female minister who said she saw him viewing the material while sat beside him in the Commons chamber. Human rights groups have criticised an Egyptian court for jailing two popular singers over a video they made with a Brazilian belly dancer. In the clip, they are seen lip-synching and smiling as the dancer, in a long dress and jacket, performs her moves. The video was a YouTube hit in 2020 and has clocked up millions of views. But the court in Alexandria found the men guilty of “violating family values” in what is being seen as part of a wider crackdown on artistic expression. Antonio Guterres, the UN chief, is visiting sites around Kyiv that have been occupied by Russian troops. In Borodyanka, north west of Kyiv, he spoke to reporters in front of buildings destroyed by strikes and shelling. A Federal High Court in Abuja granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)’s application to review facts of the two defendants who pleaded guilty in the ongoing trial of suspended DCP Abba Kyari and others on alleged cocaine deal. Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, dismissed the objection raised by counsel for Kyari and other co-defendant officers that granting the request might jeopardise their case. The Defence Headquarters says troops of Operation Delta Safe have deactivated more illegal refining sites, recovered large quantity of stolen products in Niger Delta within three weeks.
