Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has been granted a permission to take over the prosecution of suspects in the case of the death of a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Timothy Adegoke. In a letter signed by the State Commissioner for Justice Femi Akande, Falana can now take over the prosecution of seven defendants arraigned in connection with the death of Adegoke. Adegoke, had lodged in the Hilton Hotels owned by Ramon Adedoyin after which he was suspected to have been killed by some people in the hotel. Russia has banned Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior ministers from entering Russia over the UK’s “hostile” stance on the war in Ukraine. Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and 10 other senior politicians – mostly members of the Cabinet – have also been barred. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Saturday that the nation’s inflation rate increased to 15. 92 per cent in March 2022. According to a report released by NBS in March 2022 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures inflation increased to 15.92 percent on year-on-year. “This is 2.25 per cent points lower compared to 18.17 per cent recorded in March 2021. “This means that headline inflation rate slowed down in March 2022 when compared to the same month the previous year,” NBS said.
