The World Health Organisation on Thursday said COVID-19 cases in Africa have fallen for the past 16 weeks and deaths have dropped during the last eight days. The UN health agency said the drop in cases marked the longest-running decline in infections on the continent since the start of the pandemic. UN World Food Programme (WFP) says the humanitarian operational costs for Nigeria and other West Africa countries are expected to go up by 136 million dollars as a result of the rise in fuel and food prices.
