The World Food Programme (WFP) and Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on Tuesday, called for action to avert the threat of famine in Somalia and South Sudan. The alert from WFP and FAO followed the latest food security assessments which showed that six million people in Somalia will face acute food insecurity in the coming months unless the rains come. World Health Organisation (WHO) on Tuesday, welcomed the setting up of a new Heads of State and Government Group to get the world back on track to reduce premature deaths from Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs).
