Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has banned the operation of NURTW across the State. Akeredolu who gave the directive on Sunday through his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa noted that the decision was as a result of “prolonged crisis” within the union. The Onitsha Traditional Council has described as false the report making the rounds that the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, was in the Abuja-Kaduna train that was bombed by terrorists last week Monday. The Nigerian government on Monday ordered that all telephone service providers to stop telephone lines with no National Identification Number (NIN) linked to the Subscribers Identification Modules (SIM) from making outgoing calls. The Police Command in Delta says it has shot dead a suspected kidnapper and rescued 13 victims in the state. Spokesman of the state command, DSP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday evening in Warri, also said that one AK-17 riffle was recovered from the suspect.
