Police have concluded the screening of 4,438 Kaduna State indigenes aspiring to become police constables. Police spokesman in the state, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said on Sunday in Kaduna that that the screening covered applicants’ physical statuses and credentials. Successful ones would write a Computer-Based Test at a date to be announced later, according to the spokesman. He said applicants indicated interests in the job from the 23 local government areas of the state and that the screening held between Feb. 1 and Feb. 20 at the Police Collage, Kaduna.

NDLEA Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), have foiled an attempt by a syndicate to push into circulation fake $4.7 million or about N2.7 billion. A pregnant woman and eight other passengers were roasted into a bus heading to Lagos on Sunday. The bus, said to belong to KASMAG Transport company, reportedly caught fire around the Ilorin International Airport. The All Progressive Congress has declared that incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola is the winner of Saturday’s governorship primaries held across the state. Kwara State Governor, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, who was the Returning Officer, said Oyetola polled 222,169 votes to win the exercise. He added that former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, polled 12,921 to finish in second place, while former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, polled 460 votes. Bad weather has hampered the search for survivors in the Brazilian city of Petrópolis, four days after devastating flash floods and mudslides. Emergency teams had to suspend their work several times on Saturday because of torrential rains. They say there is little hope of finding anyone alive.
