The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure effective and timely upload of polling unit results on its result viewing (IREV) portal. The Director of CDD, Idayat Hassan, gave the call on Saturday in a statement. Hassan noted that when election results are uploaded on the electoral umpire’s portal in time, it would enhance transparency, credibility and confidence in the process. A former Governor of Zamfara State in the North West of Nigeria, AbdulAziz Yari has been wheeled out of the country for medical help. Yari, according to airport sources that sighted him, was brought to the airport on a wheels and flew on a British Airways flight to the United Kingdom. It could not be confirmed what exactly was the nature of the Governor’s health challenge. Yari was Governor of Zamfara between 2011 and 2019.

Mr Amido Sarki, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kuje Chairmanship candidate in Saturday’s FCT Area Councils Poll, has expressed dissatisfaction over lack of enough polling units in his voting centre in Gaube, Kuje.
