The Police Command in Delta has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a stolen Toyota Venza car from him. The spokesman of the command, DSP Bright Edafe, gave the details in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Warri. Edafe said that the suspect was nabbed on Friday by the command’s Dragon Patrol Team while on a stop and search duty on the Warri/Sapele Road. The Police in Nasarawa State has arrested one, Ovye Yakubu, over alleged murder of his wife, Esther Aya, in their residence at Sabonpegi-Shabu community of Lafia. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the arrest said the suspect was arrested on Friday Jan. 7, after the Police received report of the incident that happened on the same date as a result of quarrel. The Confederation of African Football competition’s winners’ prize money has been increased from $4.5 million, to $5million This represents an increase of about 11 percent, according to a decision said to have been taken on Friday in Douala, Cameroon during the meeting of the Executive Committee of CAF. The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, in its latest statistics, said it recorded 814 new cases nationwide. A white father and son convicted of killing a black jogger have been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. A jury found Travis and Gregory McMichael and their neighbour, William Bryan, guilty of murdering Ahmaud Arbery in February 2020.
