The circular stated that the suspects were arrested on Wednesday May 8, 2024. They were arrested following actionable intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet fraud. According to the commission, they were arrested at the Apo, Gwarimpa and Katampe axis of Abuja. Items seized from the suspects include 43 phones, six vehicles and two smartwatches. The bill titled “National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act (Amendment Bill) 2024” was passed after majority of the senators supported it at the Committee of the Whole.
