The Government of Osun has said the recruitment of National Youths Service Corps members by its ministries, departments and agencies is increasing its wage bill. The government therefore has warned against indiscriminate recruitment of corps members whose disciplines it said are not relevant to the ministries. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Wednesday evening released former Governor of Anambra State Willie Obiano. The former Governor was arrested at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport six days ago few hours after he handed over to the new Governor Prof Charles Soludo. He was arrested on his way to the United States. NPO Reports gathered that Obiano’s international passport was held back by the commission as part of the terms for his freedom. The Lagos State Government (LASG)has shut down Eko Bridge while diverting traffic to other routes for the safety of motorists following the inferno which engulfed the Apongbon axis of the bridge in the early hours of Wednesday. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, who announced the development in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos also listed out the alternative routes that motorists should ply. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has warned aggrieved indigenes of the ancient town not to take laws into their hands over the appointment of new Vice-Chancellor for the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. Fire has gutted the popular Apongbon Market in Lagos Island on Wednesday. According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency the fire has caught the popular Apongbon Bridge creating tension that the bridge might cave in. As at the time of filing this report hundreds of traders were gathered helpless and looking as the balls of flames went into the air. We Will implement Court Ruling on Electoral Act – AGF The office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice will accordingly give effect to the Court judgment in line with the dictates of the law and the spirit of the judgment.
