The Food and Agriculture Organisation has listed Lagos State among 20 other states as states facing acute food crisis in Nigeria. Other states listed as having the food crisis are Yobe, Borno, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Adamawa, Kano, Bauchi, Enugu, Niger, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa, Gombe, Benue, Abia, Cross River, Edo, Plateau and Taraba. An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Friday sentenced Frank Udeme, one of the co-defendants of the convicted billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, to five years in Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo sentenced Udeme for selling firearms to Evans after he pleaded guilty to the charge. The driver of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) who allegedly raped and murdered a passenger, Andrew Ominnikoron, was on Friday remanded in Ikoyi Custodial centre for one month. Ominnikoron was dragged to court alleged murder and rape of a 22-year-old girl, Oluwabamise Ayanwole. Magistrate O.A. Salawu, ordered that Ominnikoron be remanded for 30 days.
