The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta Command, has arrested 11 suspected oil pipeline vandals in the state. Mr. Emeka Peter, the Public Relations officer of the command, while disclosing the arrested, quoted the State Commandant, Mr. Abiodun Iskilu, as saying that the alleged vandals, aged between 32 years and 66 years, were caught transporting vandalised crude oil pipes at Evurode in the Ughelli South Local Government Area. The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a resolution on Wednesday, demanding that Russia immediately ended its military operations in Ukraine. Known informally as the world’s “town hall”, the assembly is where all 193 UN Member States had a voice. A total of 141 countries voted in favour of the resolution, which reaffirmed Ukrainian sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama says only persons documented with the Nigerian Embassies will be eligible for evacuation. Onyeama disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the ministry, Mrs. Francisca Omayuli and made available to newsmen. Onyeama said that those without passports would be issued Emergency Travel Certificates to enable them travel back home.
