The governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) support groups in the state to set out on door-to-door campaigns to secure the victory of the party. The Chief Executive Officer, Air Peace, Mr Allen Onyema, has expressed the company’s readiness to operate direct flights to Israel. Mr Stanley Olisa, the Media Executive, Air Peace said in a statement in Lagos on Saturday.that Onyema said this during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission(NCPC), boss in Abuja. The Lagos State Police Command said that four murder cases were reported and recorded in the state in the last seven days. The Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO) in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to journalists on Saturday. Hundeyin said that four persons were arrested in connection with the cases. He said one of the cases happened at the Elemoro area on Oct. 8, involving a 28-year-old Patrick Kelvin, a member of the legion, who allegedly stabbed an unknown man to death. No fewer than six persons lost their lives after their boat capsized on Kaduna River at Gbara in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State. The boat accident occurred on Friday at about 6:30 p.m. The Director-General, Niger state Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Ahmed Inga confirmed the incident in a statement in Minna on Saturday. Zamfara Government has ordered the shutting down of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Gusau and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN)’s Pride FM for allegedly violating government order and journalism practice. Two journalists Dare Akogun and AbdulRasheed Akogun have been remanded in custody on the orders of an Ilorin Magistrate Court.
