Minister of Interior, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, says he will meet with state governors to agree on the mass release of at least 30 per cent of inmates from custodial centres across the country. Aregbesola made this known when he appeared on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja. Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has asked Nigerians to stop patronising touts, scammers and unscrupulous immigration officials when applying for Nigerian passports. Obtaining Nigerian passports has become a major source of concerns with delays in capturing and release of approved documents. But the minister blamed the complications on officials who sabotage efforts being put in place to ensure that corruption is eliminated. Nigerian Senate President,Senator Ahmad Lawan said yesterday that he has no plans to appeal the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court, Damaturu, in Yobe State with regard to next year’s Yobe North Senatorial district election. The National Bureau of Statistic (NBS) has assured Nigerians of improved, accurate and comprehensive data on labour through its newly enhanced Nigeria Labour Force Survey, (NLFS). The Association of Distributors and Transporters of Petroleum Products (ADITOP) says current fuel scarcity in the FCT is caused by flooding at Koton Karfe in Kogi. Koton Karfe is a community between the FCT and Lokoja where floods had been wreaking havoc lately. The floods in the area have submerged a greater part of Koton Karfe and Lokoja and have also grounded vehicular movement.
