The Chief Returning Officer, Prof Ahmad Doko Ibrahim, who made the declaration early Monday morning, said Kabir polled a total of 1, 019, 602 to defeat the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Gawuna who scored a total 890,705 votes. Prof. Adenike Oladiji, Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, (FUTA) Akure, the Returning Officer, disclosed this on Monday in Lagos. Announcing the result on Sunday in Katsina, the State Returning Officer, Prof. Muazu Abubakar-Gusau, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Gusau, said Umar-Radda polled 859,892 votes to emerge the state governor-elect. Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu, the INEC Returning Officer, made the declaration after collation of the election results from 23 Local Government Areas of the state, on Sunday in Sokoto. The village is under Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of the state. It was learnt that riot broke out among people suspected to be Yoruba and those of Igbo extraction.
