At least 174 people have died in a stampede at an Indonesian football match that has become one of the world’s worst stadium disasters. About 180 were also hurt in the crush after home team Arema FC lost to bitter rivals at the overcrowded stadium late on Saturday in Malang, East Java. An army captain in Burkina Faso has announced on national television that he has ousted military leader Lt Col Paul-Henri Damiba. Ibrahim Traore cited Lt Col Damiba’s inability to deal with an Islamist insurgency as the reason. He also announced that borders were closed indefinitely and all political activities were suspended. Aisha Wakil, popularly known as Mama Boko Haram, has been jailed along others after the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Maiduguri Zonal Command dragged them before the court. Mama Boko was convicted on Thursday alongside Tahiru Alhaji, Saidu Dura and Lawal Shoyode.
