An autopsy ordered by the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that the son of singer, David Adeleke (Davido) Ifeanyi David Adeleke, actually died by drowning.
The Police Command in the state confirmed this on Saturday.
The death of the junior Adeleke came to public knowledge few days after his 3rd birthday which was marked in grand style in Lagos.
His father and mother, Chioma, have kept mum since the tragedy happened.
Responding to a short message by the NPO Reports on Saturday, Command Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the autopsy is out.
Replying to the question on whether the younger Adeleke died out drowning, Hundeyin simply responded “Confirmed.”
In a telephone call later, the spokesman of the Lagos Command also made the same statement.
The police had earlier arrested about eight domestic staff of the musician including the nanny to the deceased. It was gathered that their arrest was out of suspicion of possible foul play in the tragedy.
Nigerians of all status have been pouring with condolences on the singer and his fiancee, Chioma.
The tragedy comes at a time the two were coming together after a long period of separation. Few weeks ago, Davido had also hinted that the two would get married next year.
He made the statement in the presence of a UK-based Nigerian Pastor, Tobi Adegboyega in London.
