At least four Nigerians have made the finalists list for the African Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) Awards.
This was contained in a statement issued by the South African based initiative forum.
According to AWIEF, the finalists were selected from a diverse group of talented women founders and business owners across Africa.
Held annually as part of the Forum’s conference, the award spans across different categories which include agriculture, technology, creative industries, social entrepreneurship, amongst others.
Under the Agri Entrepreneur Award category, Ifgreen Industries & Investment Chief Executive Officer, Ifeoma Okonkwo, was among the three female finalists.
She will be competing for the award against Botswana’s Naledi Magowe and Kenya’s Cherotich Rutto.
Similarly, the Tech Entrepreneur Award category saw myStash Co-Founder, Christiana Okere, pegged against Ynes Hafi from Tunisia and Peace Iraguha from Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Social Entrepreneur Award had Avilla Naturalle founder, Temitope Mayegun, and fellow countrywoman Osen Iyahen of Optimal Greening Foundation pegged against each other alongside South African Tsholofelo Ramokoka.
The winners of the 2024 Awards will be announced at the AWIEF Awards Ceremony on November 29, 2024, during the AWIEF Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
