Declares Singer’s Claim of Membership Null, Void
- Safiu Kehinde
The Fusengbuwa ruling house has rejected Wasiu Ayinde’s letter of intent submitted in declaration of the Fuji icon’s interest in the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebu land.
NPO Reported that the singer had last week declared interest in the throne in the letter addressed to the Chairman of the ruing house.
Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM, had in the letter dated 3rd of December, notified the ruling house of his intention to be considered for the vacant stool as he declared himself a bonafide son of the ruling house, tracing his ancestry to the Oba Jadiara lineage.
The singer’s interest in the Awujale throne had stirred divide with the ruling house as one of its chieftain and Vice Chairman, Prof. Fassy Yusuf, denied being aware of the letter of intent submitted by Nigerian Fuji musician.
Yusuf had clarified that he was never privy to the letter purportedly written by KWAM nor was he consulted.
In a latest development, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House would on Thursday issue a statement rejecting KWAM’s letter of intent.
The statement was jointly signed by its Chairman, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi; Deputy Chairman, Otunba Adedokun Ajidagba; as well as the Vice Chairman, Prof. Fassy Yusuf.
Other signatories also included the ruling house’s General Secretary, Prince Salami; Head of the Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Akinola Odedina; and his Co-Head, Alh. Adebisi Quadri.
As contained in the statement, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House firstly held that the letter was pre-signed by a purported family head, Omoba Adetayo Oduneye.
The house ruled that the Oduneye is not a registered member of the house, rendering his signature unauthorised.
They also debunked Ayinde’s Jadiara Royal House ancestry claim, stressing that there is no proof of his membership with the house.
The Fusengbuwa ruling house detached themselves from the singer as they rejected the letter.
The letter read; “We write to confirm the receipt of the above competed form dated 10th December 2025 and signed by your good self.
“Curiously, the form was certified by a purported family unit head, one Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo on 8th December 2025, two days before your good self signed it! In other words, the form was presigned. Please permit us to reply as follows:
“1. The form was not signed by the authorised representative (Family Head) of your purported Family Unit Head;
“2. Omoba Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye Eruobodo is not a registered member of the Jadiara Royal House and therefore, has no locus standi to sign any linkage form on behalf of the family; and,
“3. Our extensive investigation has not revealed any proof of your membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of Fusengbuwa Ruling House.
“Consequently, the completed linkage lineage form is hereby declared null, void and of no consequence.
“For the avoidance of doubt, your claim to the membership of Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected and the completed form is of no consequence.
“Please accept our best wishes for your future endeavours.”
