An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday, remanded a 25-year-old man, Damilola Adeleke, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre over alleged defilement of his neighbour’s daughter.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Omolara Kushanu, who refused to take the defendant’s plea, ordered his remand in custody, pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
Adeleke, a barber who resides at 10 Olorunda St., Ijaiye, Lagos, is being charged with defilement, for which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on November 20, 2025.
Ademigbuji said that Adeleke tricked the victim, a 14-year-old girl into his room under the pretext of sending her on an errand and defiled her in the process.
He said that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. NAN
