*Flies Out of Nigeria
The convoy of the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has been involved in a road crash in Abuja.
The governor was however not in his car when the accident occurred.
His Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Terver Akase, confirmed the accident but said no life was lost.
According to him, the convoy was heading to Benue State after accompanying to governor to Abuja airport when one of the vehicles collided with a golf near Karu Flyover in Nyanya.
The statement read, “We have received numerous calls from concerned Nigerians regarding the accident which occurred today near Karu Flyover in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory.
“The Governor’s convoy was on the way from Abuja to Makurdi after accompanying him to the airport for his trip to United Kingdom when a golf car collided with one of the security vehicles.
“We thank God that no life was lost in the incident.
Meanwhile, the Governor has arrived the United Kingdom to attend a special event on justice and peace-building.
According to Akase, the event which the governor was invited to, would commence on Monday.
“The events will focus on peace-building, social justice and sustainable development in Nigeria, as well as other parts of the world.
“The summit in the United Kingdom which commences tomorrow Monday July 04, 2022, is put together by the Gideon and Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation, while that in the United States is organized by the International Committee on Nigeria, ICON”, the statement added.
