The national grid has collapsed again! Residents have been thrown into darkness in Abuja, Lagos and other cities.
Most cities went into power cuts as from about 5pm on Friday.
By the evening of Friday, most power distribution companies had started sending messages to consumers to prepare their minds for another round of darkness.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and appeal that you bear with us while we await restoration from the TCN (Transmission Company of Nigeria). We regret all inconvenience caused.”
Also, Eko Electricity Distribution Company said the grid collapse affected its entire network.
“Good evening everyone. We regret to inform you that the current outage affecting our entire network is due to system collapse,” EKEDC stated.
It was the third time the national grid would collapse in one month.
The development, according consumers, means more spending on fuel to power generators with all the attendant health challenges.
