It was a bloody day at the Arepo, Lagos-Ibadan Highway, the Ogun State on Three men have died in a road crash that injured four other persons on the Lagos-Ibadan highway.
It was gathered that a Toyota Corolla car (marked FKJ848FH) lost control and ran into motorcycles waiting at the Arepo Bus Stop in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government of Ogun State to pick up passengers.
The accident occurred at about 12:30 PM on Thursday.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that eight persons – seven men and one woman were involved in the accident.
While the woman and three other men sustained injuries, one person was rescued unhurt.
The spokesperson of the FRSC in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, disclosed that the injured victims have been conveyed to Beachland Hospital and ROA Hospital, all in Arepo.
Okpe said two of the dead bodies were taken by the Hausa community at Arepo for burial, while the remaining one was taken to Divine Touch Hospital’s morgue.
“A fatal crash occurred at about 1230 hours on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around Arepo Bus-stop.
“A total of eight persons were involved which comprised seven male adults and one female adult.
“Four persons were injured, one female adult and three male adults. One person was unhurt.
“A total of three persons were killed and all male adults.”
She, however, said the injured victims were taken to Beachland Hospital Arepo for medical atention and ROA Hospital Arepo while two of the dead bodies were taken by the Hausa community at Arepo for burial and the remaining dead person was taken to Divine Touch Hospital morgue.
“The MTD Police Warewa took custody of the crashed vehicles and obstruction cleared off.
“The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun reiterated on speed violation and advised motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations.
“He also sympathised with the families of the deceased and pray that God should strengthen them for the losses,” she added
