Mourns Victims of Kano Explosion

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the suicide attack in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, labelling the attack as an act of cowardice.
NPO Reported that no fewer than 24 persons were killed and several others injured by a female suicide bomber on Friday night at Konduga LGA.
the Borno Police Command’s spokesperson, Nahun Daso, who confirmed the incident on Saturday said the improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated at a food joint, where the attacker targeted residents who had gathered in a large number to buy food.
Daso disclosed that the body of the suicide bomber was severely dismembered by the blast, with only the head recovered from the scene.
Reacting to the tragic incident in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy , Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu mourned those who lost their lives while urging security agencies to double their efforts in routing remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents who resort to attacks on soft targets as a diversionary tactic.
The President expressed his condolences to the Government and people of Borno State over the incident and directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to support survivors.
In the same vein, Tinubu sympathised with the families of those killed or injured by an explosion on Saturday morning in Kano.
The explosion reportedly occured at a scrap metal factory, affecting 15 people, with five of them losing their lives.
Tinubu stressed the importance of workplace safety measures and tasked relevant government institutions with investigating the incident.
