The suspended Kogi state lawmaker, Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has arrived at the National Assembly complex amid tight security.
NPO earlier Reported that the lawmaker’s announced plan to resume despite warning by the Senate had seen the legislative complex beefed up with heavy security operatives and patrol vans.
Despite the security presence, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s supporters had converged at the National Assembly to welcome the embattled lawmaker.
As captured in video shared on X, the Kogi lawmaker was forced to take a long walk to the National Assembly complex as her vehicle was not allowed into the complex.
She reportedly made it through the first gate of the Assembly and is currently making her way to the second gate of the complex.
In a brief address to newsmen, the lawmaker who was accompanied by human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, expressed her delight over resumption to the red chamber.
“I’m just glad to be alive and I’m glad to resume today. And that’s all I will say for now until we get there.” She said.
