At least two people have been confirmed dead in a fatal road crash involving Nigerian-born United Kingdom’s boxer, Anthony Joshua,
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday in Makun area of Ogun State.
According to eyewitnesses, Joshua’s vehicle, a Lexus Jeep with the registration number KRD 850 HN, collided with a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Photos shared on X captured moment rescue team evacuated the boxer from the crushed vehicle.
However, the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
Joshua who had earlier this month thrilled his supporters with a resounding victory against the United States Youtuber- turned- boxer, Jake Paul, arrived in Nigeria last week for his regular Christmas and new year celebration at his hometown in Ogun State.
This year’s visit had however been marked on a tragic note for the boxer with the fatal road crash.
Videos circulating on X further showed Joshua writhing in pain as he was transferred into a waiting police van while the two deceased victims considered to be his accomplice laid motionless in the pool of blood at the accident scene.
