The judge, while sentencing Adedoyin to death, also ordered that the children of the late Adegoke must be trained to the university level from the estate belonging to the convicted businessman.
An Osun businessman and hotelier, Ramon Adedoyin has been sentenced to death over the 2021 mysterious murder of a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Mr. Timothy Adegoke.
Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, Osun Chief Judge, who handled the case said Adedoyin, who is also the founder of Oodua University, Ile Ife, is to be hanged. Recall that Timothy Adegoke , a Chattered Accountant with an Abuja-based company, had arrived at Adedoyin’s hotel, for preparation for his examination as Masters of Business Administration student of the OAU in 2021.
Timothy, a father of two who hailed from Eruwa in Oyo state, was however unreachable again after checking into the Hilton Hotel owned by Adedoyin. His bloodied remains were however discovered in a shallow grave in a forest not far away from the hotel by men of the Osun command of the Nigerian Police Force.
This led to the arrest of staff of the hotel who initially denied that Timothy lodged into the hotel.
A staff of the hotel, who later confessed said Adedoyin’s son, Raheem, was the one who supervised the evacuation of the remains of the late OAU student and his burial in a shallow grave in the forest.
The son has not been seen since then.
It was believed that the family had agreed that Raheem went underground pending what was expected would be summarily dismissed case.
The judge, while sentencing Adedoyin to death, also ordered that the children of the late Adegoke must be trained to the university level from the estate belonging to the convicted businessman.
Others who were dragged to court over the murder include Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle.
The killing of Timothy had gained public attention at the time with many calling for justice.
