A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the immediate stoppage of the disciplinary action set to be taken by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions against embattled member of the Senate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The ruling was delivered by Justice Obiora Egwuatu on Tuesday following an ex parte motion brought by Natasha’s lawyers.
Recall that the Kogi lawmaker had stirred public outrage following her sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill.
The Kogi lawmaker made the allegation during an interview on Arise TV on February 28, disclosing that her troubles in the Senate began after she refused sexual attempts from Akpabio.
She disclosed this few days after disrupting the Senate plenary over seat arrangement.
Natasha defied Akpabio’s order and repeatedly raising a point of order despite being overruled.
The senate subsequently sent Akpoti-Uduaghan to the committee on ethics, privileges, and public petitions for disciplinary investigation.
