Tragedy has struck in the Nigerian Police Force as a
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Joseph Egbunike, died in his office.
Egbunike was in charge of the Force Criminal Investigations Department.
The deceased hailed from Onitsha, Anambra State.
Until his death, he was heading the Special Investigation Panel constituted by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to investigate the activities of the suspended head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, over money laundering allegations.
Kyari himself and other officers are currently being tried over drugs related offences.
