The Department of State Security on Thursday charged the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele to court.
In a statement on Thursday, Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS, said the decision to charge Emefiele was in compliance with the order of the federal capital territory high court.
NPO Reported earlier that a Federal High Court in Abuja had give the security agency one week within which to charge Emefiele to court or release him.
The court had decided in a suit filed by Emefiele challenging alleged violations of his constitutional rights.
“Sequel to an Abuja High Court Order of today, 13th July, 2023, the Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele has been charged to Court in compliance with the Order.
