A Nigerian journalist Juwon Soyinka has been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Security on arrival in Lagos on Sunday.
Soyinka was allegedly picked up by the security operatives over an undisclosed reason as at the time of filing this report.
He was said to have left messages for some of his contacts.
Calls placed to his Nigerian MTN phone number were not answered as at the time of filing this report.
He was said to have hinted some of his contacts after arriving at the Muritala Mohammed airport today after his was picked up by security operatives.
Soyinka had handled a number of investigations for BBC including stories on drugs cartel.
A prominent story had bursted the codeine cartel.
He had become a target of attacks by some unknown people until he moved out of Nigeria.
“We know he was picked up by DSS as he came in cos Juwon himself sent a message to his friend saying so. Why he was picked up is still not known. However, it is safe to guess that it is related to investigative reports he is doing for BBC,” one of his contacts said Sunday morning
