The Central Bank Governor is before the House of Representatives today after previous invitations by the lawmakers.
Mr. Godwin Emefiele finally bowed to pressure and is currently before the ad-hoc committee of the House of Representatives which is investigating the scarcity of the new naira notes.
Nigerians currently queue at automatic teller machines for scarce Naira as a result of the redesign of the currency.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, had on Thursday stated that he would call for the arrest of Emefiele if he fails to honour the House invitation.
The apex bank had in November, fixed the 31 January deadline for the usage of the old notes which is now been extended to Feb. 10th.
However, the scarcity of the new notes forced the House to set up an ad hoc committee to resolve the difficulties between the CBN and commercial banks, despite the insistence of Emefiele that enough new notes had been deployed to banks.
