The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has shutdown the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Secretariat over unpaid ground rent.
NPO Reported that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, had on Friday announced the final take takeover of the national headquarters amongst other properties over the unpaid ground rent amounting to a staggering N6.96 billion.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, at a joint media conference, Wike announced that the takeover enforcement will begin today.
The PDP national headquarters currently under construction in the Central Business District (CBD) is among other 4,794 properties which land title were revoked due to long-standing ground rent defaults, some going back as far as 43 years.
As disclosed in a post shared on X, the FCTA officials and enforcement team stormed the secretariat to shut it down.
