A fire outbreak has, on Wednesday, gutted Radio Nigeria studio in Lagos.
This was disclosed in a post on X by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
While the cause of the outbreak at the studio located at Plot No. 35, Ikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, fire fighters arrived at the scene to curtail the inferno.
Confirming the incident, in a statement, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, said that the agency was alerted at about 17:30 hours and had firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun Fire Stations as first responders who met the fire well-alight due to the substances involved in the material composition of the studio section.
She, however, assured the public that the collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service and other Emergency Responders including the Nigerian Police have put the situation under control and confined it to the studio section of the U-shape one-storey building where it emanated.
The Director added that there is currently no report of any casualty, as the damping down of the fire embers continue.
