A four storey building under construction has collapsed in Abuja on Monday.
The building , said to be meant for an hotel , came down at Life Camp, Jabi, in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Rescue operations are reportedly underway, but this newspaper learnt that there is a lack of equipment on the scene as of press time.
The rescue team, comprising officials from FCT Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Nigerian police, are on the ground.
At the time of filing this report about five workers from the site had been rescued and were being transported to the hospital.
There are claims that the project in a swampy area of the Life Camp of the FCT, came down as a result of use of substandard materials.
