Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has set a new world record as the Guinness World Record (GWR) confirmed her largest jollof pot cooking fest.
NPO Reported that Baci had last week Friday embarked on the challenge as her giant pot weighing over 1000 kilogrammes arrived at the Eko Hotel and Suites.
The chef, in partnership with Gino, a Nigerian food and cooking spice company, prepared a total of 200 bags of rice- a feat which attracted thousands of youths to the venue.
While GWR had in a post on Friday night acknowledged Hilda Baci’s feat, the organisation officially declared the Nigerian chef as the new world record holder in a separate post on Monday.
As contained in the post shared on X, GWR announced that Baci has set a new record of largest jollof rice pot which weighed 8,780kg.
The new recorded superseded initial record of 4,700kg.
