Few hours after President Bola Tinubu met the leadership of the labour in his office on Wednesday, his government has dragged them to court saying it is illegal for them to call out Nigerians in protests.
NPO Reports gathered that government on Wednesday filed a suit challenging the labour for contempt of court over a subsisting order of the National Industrial Court. The “notice of consequences of disobedience to order of the court” also called “form 48” was filed before the national industrial court in Abuja on Wednesday. The labour leaders led by the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, had met Tinubu Wednesday evening where the reportedly discussed matters relating to a peaceful end to the face off. The NLC and the Trade Union Congress and other civil society organisations had matched out today in Abuja, Lagos, Osogbo, and other major cities to register their displeasure over the rising cost of living.
