Serve Him Invitation Letter Over Financial Scandals

There was a mild drama today in Osogbo, the Osun state capital as officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Allied Offences Commission (ICPC) ambushed one of the commissioners under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Mr. Yekeen Adebayo Adeleke, to serve him an invitation letter over allegations of financial misappropriations while in office.
Adeleke, popularly called Banik, was said to have gone to a popular radio station, Rave FM, Osogbo to attend a live programme when the officials of the anti-corruption agency stormed the radio station located at the Agunbelewo area, along the Osogbo-Ilobu Road.
Adeleke served as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during the administration of Oyetola.
He has been fingered in the alleged withdrawal of some government funds running into hundreds of millions.
The former commissioner who is one of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress loyal to Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Oyetola.
Sources that witnessed the ambush by the ICPC officials said Adeleke, who had come to the radio station a number of times in connection with the same allegations, was said to have been allowed to finish his programme while waiting for him at the premises of the station.
” I think the ICPC officials heard his voice on the radio station and having been looking for him to serve him invitation letter, they felt it was an opportunity to track him in the studio. And so they got him.” the source told NPO Reports
